Martinsville Pre-race

I am on the plane to Martinsville now.  I bought myself a keyboard for my ipad to make writing a bit easier, so I figure I should write more often to justify my investment.

Wasn’t a particularly exciting week, though I did see Gaslight Anthem on Tuesday at the Ogden Theatre.  It was a great show, the acoustics of that place are really good.  It seems that Denver has a lot of music venues and a lot of concerts which I am looking forward to if I am ever in town for a good one.

I have a flight home booked for Sunday night so I can finally pack and move to Denver.  I’m not looking forward to the moving (and 2 days in a Uhaul) but I am looking forward to being settled a little more.  I won’t miss the Extended Stay that’s for sure…

I don’t really know what to expect this weekend.  I am looking forward to it because this is the first short track race, and short track racing is nearly all of the stock car racing I have seen in my life.  I think it will be stressful, with the potential for a wrecked car about every 20 seconds during the race.  FRR didn’t run great here last year, but with all the changes we’ve made I think we should be better, fingers crossed.

I’ve been told we don’t stay in a nice place and there isn’t much to do.  The only upside is a good Mexican restaurant that has Dos Equis amber on tap…
